Ingredients
Method
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove the green tops, and slice the strawberries into smaller pieces.
- Add the strawberries and 1/2 cup water to a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
- For a smoother lemonade, strain the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh strainer to remove the seeds and excess pulp.
- Juice fresh lemons until you have 1 cup of lemon juice. Pour the lemon juice into a large pitcher.
- Add the granulated sugar to the lemon juice and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Pour the strawberry puree into the pitcher and add 4 cups of cold water.
- Stir the mixture thoroughly until the strawberry puree, lemon juice, sugar, and water are well combined.
- Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness if desired.
- Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes so it becomes thoroughly chilled and the flavors blend together.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the chilled Strawberry Lemonade over the ice.
- Garnish with fresh strawberry slices, lemon slices, and mint leaves. Serve immediately.
Notes
* Use ripe strawberries for the sweetest flavor and brightest color.
* Freshly squeezed lemon juice gives the best flavor.
* Adjust the amount of sugar according to the sweetness of your strawberries.
* For sparkling Strawberry Lemonade, replace part of the cold water with chilled sparkling water just before serving.
* Store leftover lemonade in a covered pitcher in the refrigerator.
* Stir well before serving because some strawberry puree may settle at the bottom.
