Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the Oven and Dough
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle about 10 x 14 inches on a lightly floured surface.
- Add the Creamy Base
- Spread the softened cream cheese (or ranch dressing) evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning evenly over the surface.
- Add the Filling
- Evenly distribute the cooked chicken over the dough.
- Sprinkle the chopped bacon over the chicken.
- Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Roll and Seal
- Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log.
- Pinch the seams and both ends tightly to seal.
- Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the top with melted butter or olive oil.
- Bake
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- If desired, brush with a little more melted butter immediately after baking.
- Cool and Slice
- Allow the stromboli to cool for 7 minutes before slicing.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve warm with ranch dressing or marinara sauce.
Notes
- Rotisserie chicken works perfectly for a quick shortcut.
- Let refrigerated dough sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before rolling.
- Don't overfill the stromboli, or it may split during baking.
- Seal the edges tightly to prevent cheese from leaking.
- Allow the stromboli to rest before slicing so the filling stays together.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
