Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Slice the loaf of bread lengthwise and carefully hollow out some of the soft interior, leaving enough bread around the edges to support the filling. Reserve the removed bread for homemade breadcrumbs or croutons.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
- Spread the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly into both halves of the prepared bread, pressing it gently into the hollowed center.
- Mix the melted butter with the garlic powder and brush it over the edges and top of the bread. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the bread is golden brown. For extra color, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end while watching carefully.
- Allow the stuffed bread to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into serving pieces. Serve warm.
Notes
- Thick Alfredo sauce works best and prevents the bread from becoming soggy.
- Rotisserie chicken is an excellent time-saving option.
- Freshly grated mozzarella and Parmesan melt more smoothly than pre-shredded cheese.
- Add cooked bacon, sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or jalapeños for delicious variations.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
